Should I ignore cease-and-desist letters?
Never!
Doing nothing is the worst thing you could do.
Until a few years ago it was generally recommended to ignore cease-and-desist letters in the hope that the cease-and-desist lawyers involved would sooner or later let the matter rest. Now, however, lawyers have adopted the method of issuing temporary injunctions in such cases. The charges can easily run into thousands of euros. As a minimum requirement to rule out the risk of a temporary injunction you have to make a cease-and-desist declaration entailing an appropriate fine!
